Since SU Qld first introduced a Chaplain to a State school in 1990, Chaplaincy Services have been implemented in more than 600 schools across Queensland.
Working alongside other caring professionals, SU Qld Chaplains (or ‘chappy’ as they sometimes affectionately known) care for young people’s spiritual and emotional needs through pastoral care, activity programs, community outreach and adventure-based learningWhether its playing handball at lunchtime, helping a student deal with significant personal issues or helping a teacher deal with the grief over the loss of a loved one, school chaplains are there to provide support for those in need as well as encourage all to be the best that they can be.
To quote one grateful family member, “a world without chappy is a world without hope.” |
