But simply, our young people are depending on them.  Teachers are more & more supporting them.  School Principals are asking for them.  Parents are relying on them.

When there is a need they lend a helping hand.  When there is a struggle they lend a listening ear.  When there is doubt they speak an encouraging word.  When there is a sense of hopelessness they provide a path to guide them to hope.

School chaplains through SU Qld have grown across our state schools, because our schools have seen the need, seen the service that school chaplains provide and are crying out for it.  When school students were asked, ‘If they were in need of support through a tough time who would they turn to for help.’  Overwhelmingly, a large proportion of responses had the word chaplain in it.

Just as importantly, many a school leader credits their school chaplain as a significant someone who supported them in their journey through school and encouraged their leadership within the school.
